About Us

Our patrol-based program is critical to creating a Scout-led Troop. We meet weekly on Thursday nights from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm (6:00pm -6:30pm designated for merit badge work and rank advancement requirements) and have an overnight troop activity every month. In the summer, we spend a week at summer camp. Our Troop builds our yearly program around the specific needs of all of the Scouts.

We share our annual calendar with our Scouts and families. You may also see upcoming events in Scoutbook, an online Scouts BSA communication and record-keeping tool. While official communication will be delivered to your email inbox via Scoutbook, we maintain a public facing Facebook page that can be shared with extended family and friends and facilitate information exchange in our Facebook Group which is restricted to current members of the Troop. We invite you to subscribe to our YouTube channel where you find videos capturing Troop events and training.

Your Scout will find a wealth of information in their Scout Handbook, the go-to guidebook for Scouts BSA. It is their workbook that they will use for years. The book outlines rank requirements, provides instructions and insights about the program, and tracks the Scout’s progress.

Whilst a new scout is working on there first rank, (Scout), a senior Scout called the Troop Guide will mentor and train them in the basic skills and principles of Scouting. Our (Assistant) Scoutmasters oversee this process. We endeavor to provide the opportunity for new Scouts to advance through Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class ranks during this first year.

We are proud to be a Scout-led Troop, with adults supporting the program. Our most seasoned Scouts are Patrol Leaders, skill instructors and the Troop officers. Planning and conducting the Troop's weekly meetings, monthly outings, and service projects are among the responsibilities of the Scouts of the Patrol Leaders Council.

The last critical element of the Troop's success is the adults. The Troop adult staff consists of registered Scouters – the Scoutmaster, Assistant Scoutmasters, and Troop Committee members. Each staff member is specifically trained for their position. These adults all lead by example. The Troop Committee is fully dedicated to helping the Patrol Leaders Council make their plans a reality. The goal of each adult leader is to make our Scouts self-confident citizens who are prepared for the upcoming challenges of life.

We have outstanding support from our Troop Committee who may be behind the scenes in the various functions required by the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) to run. Interested in volunteering for the Troop? Please let our Committee Chair know.

In our Troop, we stress Youth Protection Training (YPT). Ideally, all of our parents complete this online training, which is now required by USAG Stuttgart for all youth-oriented volunteers who supervise Youth. Having completed your YPT also enables you to join the Troop during one of our many adventures. You will find detailed instructions here.
