Welcome to Troop 44!

We meet at the Panzer Scout Hut on Thursdays. Troop 44 provides a well-rounded Scout program. We have at least one outing per month. The outings include hikes, campouts, day trips, and summer camp in either Switzerland or Croatia.

Our Troop

Scouting is a youth-run program. As such, it may appear at times not to be as organized as an adult might run it. But by being given the opportunity to be leaders, youth become leaders. In order to make sure that our Scouts have the greatest opportunity to mature as leaders, we always encourage parents to become members of Troop 44 and learn what Scouting is about.

Advancement is also an integral part of our Troop program, both indoors and outdoors. The requirement for badges of rank suggests plenty of troop meetings, hikes, and camp activities. As Scouts take part in our Troop programs they learn skills which help them advance. They don't automatically advance through participation, although advancement is a result of participation. Advancement is a personal and individual thing. Each Scout advances according to their own interests, abilities, and participation. Each Scout advances by personally demonstrating their own capability. They do not advance by being a passive participant in the Troop program.

All advancement requirements MUST be approved by registered Senior Scouts (for Scout-1st Class) or (Assistant) Scoutmasters ONLY. Parents do not approve rank requirements.
